Overview
This is a 5V 2A step-up boost converter module which is designed to efficiently charge and discharge lithium batteries. It operates on an input voltage range of 5V to 5.5V and can charge batteries up to 4.2V or 4.35V, with a tolerance of ±0.5%. The module can deliver a charging current of up to 2.4A, ensuring rapid charging times.
When in step-up boost mode the module outputs a stable 5V to 5.15V DC from 3.6V DC of a lithium battery, compensating for cable losses. The output voltage ripple is kept to a minimum of 100mV, ensuring smooth output voltage. The module claims a high conversion efficiency of 92.5% (at 3.6V input, 5V 2A output), minimizing power loss.
To conserve battery life, the module draws an ultra-low static current of less than 30uA when idle.
