Overview

The Cytron 7-30V 10A Potentiometer & Switch Control DC Motor Driver (MD10-POT) is a reliable motor driver that offers precise control over DC motors. Designed for a wide range of applications, this motor driver operates with a power input voltage range of 7V to 30V, making it ideal for both low and high power applications. It supports continuous motor currents up to 10A and can handle peak currents of up to 30A for durations of less than 10 seconds, ensuring sudden surge in current requirement.

One of the standout features of the MD10-POT is its speed control functionality, which is facilitated by using a 10KΩ potentiometer which can be connected over the specified terminal. This allows users to adjust the motor's speed with high precision. Additionally, the MD10-POT driver is capable of controlling motor speed and direction using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals, with an external PWM input frequency of up to 20 kHz.

The motor driver is equipped with built-in LEDs, including a power LED that lights up when the unit is powered on, and motor status LEDs that provide real-time feedback on motor operation.

The Cytron MD10-POT DC Motor Driver is an excellent choice for a reliable, compact, and efficient motor controller.

WARNING!: The motor driver lacks reverse polarity protection, so care should be taken with the power supply input polarity.

* When operating an inductive load, such as a DC brush motor, it's important to use a battery. This is because most power supplies, particularly those with a switching design, have a protection circuit that shuts down upon detecting regenerative current from the motor. In scenarios where a switching power supply is necessary, it's still suggested to connect a battery in parallel. This battery should have the same rated voltage as the power supply to effectively absorb the regenerative current.
