Overview
Arduino UNO Rev 3 is a microcontroller based board powered by a atmel ATmega328 microcontroller (MCU). ATmega328 is an 8 bit with 32KB in-system self-programmable flash memory and 2KB of RAM. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button.
Arduino UNO Rev 3 is powered either through USB after connecting to a computer or with an external DC power supply (7-12V DC) through the power jack or you can use a battery.
The USB to serial communication is handled by the on board ATmega16u2, thus no need of an external USB to serial programmer.
Arduino UNO is a perfect board for those who are just starting their journey in the field of electronics controlled by digital circuits which includes the microcontroller (MCU), sensors, actuators, switches etc.
