Overview
The HC-SR501 is a popular and low cost passive infrared (PIR) sensor module used for motion detection.
The sensor is designed to detect motion by sensing changes in the infrared radiation levels emitted by objects within its field of view. It employs a pyroelectric sensor, coupled with a Fresnel lens to concentrate infrared signals onto the sensor element. The module's integrated signal processing circuit effectively filters out noise, resulting in a stable and dependable motion detection output.
It is widely employed in security systems, automation projects, lighting systems, and other applications requiring motion sensing.
