Overview
The PCIe to M.2 Adapter Board (E) is a compact expansion board for the Raspberry Pi 5, enabling seamless integration of NVMe M.2 solid-state drives (SSDs) for enhanced storage performance. It supports NVMe SSDs with PCIe Gen2/3 interface, compatible with 2242 and 2230 sizes. This adapter allows the Raspberry Pi 5 to boot directly from the connected NVMe SSD, improving overall system speed and efficiency.
The board features an integrated cooling solution with a temperature-controlled blower fan which is powered by a 5V DC input from the Raspberry Pi’s four-pin fan header and operates at a speed of 8000±10% RPM and delivers a maximum airflow of 1.39 CFM. The fan's speed is regulated via pulse width modulation (PWM) control, and a tachometer provides real-time monitoring. Additionally, an anodized aluminum heatsink enhances heat dissipation, ensuring stable performance during intensive tasks.
For ease of use, the adapter is designed to align with the size and mounting holes of the Raspberry Pi 5, making installation straightforward via the 16-pin PCIe interface. It also includes dual LED indicators for monitoring power and activity status.
